The following parameters are used:
-
Measured area This is the surface of your roof. It is advisable to measure only the sunny side because the installation of the panels on the north will not have the same efficiency.
-
Panel efficiency This is the efficiency of the solar panels that you can install on your roof. The value comes from the manufacturer of the solar panel and is usually between 0.15 and 0.22. The value 0.17 is chosen arbitrarily and you can change it accordingly.
-
Average insolation This is the average amount of solar energy that reaches an area each day, measured in kWh / m² / day. The value of 4,284 hours is the 10-year average between March 2009 and March 2019, a value taken from here.
-
Performance ratio This is the average performance of the photovoltaic system. The value 0.85 was taken from here.
-
Electricity generated The amount of electricity generated in one year expressed in Megawatt-hours (MWh)
